Marshall A. Bernstein has long been recognized as a leader of the Philadelphia legal community.

A highly regarded lecturer and writer, Mr. Bernstein has served as adjunct professor of trial advocacy at Temple University and as a lecturer and course planner at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. He authored the “Civil Litigation on Behalf of Crime Victims” article for the Pennsylvania Bar Association Quarterly.

Mr. Bernstein has served appointments as judge pro tem for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, as mediator in federal courts, and on the county board of law examiners.

A fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the American Bar Foundation, Mr. Bernstein is also a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, the American Judicature Society, the American Board of Trial Advocates, and the Inner Circle of Advocates.

For the Philadelphia Bar Association, Mr. Bernstein has served on and chaired numerous committees, and served twice on the Board of Governors. His roles at the American Bar Association have included positions on committees concerned with trial techniques, and tort and insurance practice law.

Mr. Bernstein is a member and a former executive committee member at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. At the Lawyers’ Club of Philadelphia, he has served as president and a member of the Board of Directors. He has also been Pennsylvania state chairman, board member, and a longtime member of Trial Lawyers for Public Justice.

Mr. Bernstein earned his B.A. in 1946, and LL.B. in 1949, both from the University of Pennsylvania. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania courts, as well as federal appellate courts, and the United States Supreme Court.
