Emily B. Marks
Emily B. Marks is an associate with the firm and concentrates her practice on representing catastrophically injured persons in complex medical malpractice and tort litigation. Ms. Marks distinguishes herself from her peers by having gained extensive litigation experience trying major jury and arbitration level cases. Her notable achievements include successfully representing victims of sexual assault in civil cases.
Ms. Marks earned her Juris Doctorate from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2006, where she was a member of the Science, Technology and Environmental Law Journal and Women’s Law Caucus. She graduated from Swarthmore College in 2003, with a major in Political Science and minor in Women’s Studies.
Ms. Marks has numerous prominent leadership positions within the legal community. She was appointed to a 2 year term as co-chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association Women in the Profession Committee for 2011-2012. She is actively involved in the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and serves as the current liaison to the Women in the Profession Committee. She co-chaired the Women in the Profession Public Service Task Force in 2009-2010, a committee dedicated to organizing community service projects including a mentoring program for area high school students and a school supply fundraiser.
Ms. Marks is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association. She has been recognized as Pennsylvania Super Lawyer Rising Star in 2010 and 2011.
